Furnish liquid Sodium Chlorite for use in the treatment of water at the City of Tulsa’s A.B. Jewell Water Treatment Plant. All Sodium Chlorite product that is supplied to the City shall meet the following quality parameter requirements: 1. The product shall meet the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standard for Sodium Chlorite, B303-18, or its most recent revision, unless stated otherwise herein. 2. The Sodium Chlorite shall contain no soluble inorganic or organic substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of those consuming the water that has been properly treated with the product. 3. The product shall have a concentration of 25 ± 0.8% by weight (24.2-25.8%) active Sodium Chlorite (NaClO2), with a specific gravity within the range of 1.201-1.222 @ 25º C. If one exists, the Seller shall provide their Sodium Chlorite Density-Strength Conversion Table, or comparable document within 10 days after notification that its Bid was selected for contract award by the City. 4. The product shall be clear, light tan to straw-brown in color, and free of particulate matter. The clarity of the product shall permit the reading of flow-measuring devices without difficulty. 5. The aqueous Sodium Chlorite solution shall be strongly alkaline, with pH ≥ 12. 6. The aqueous 25% Sodium Chlorite solution shall not contain impurities above the following listed maximum concentrations (by weight): • Sodium Chloride, NaCl: 5.9% • Sodium Hydroxide, NaOH: 0.9% • Sodium Carbonate, Na2CO3, 0.6% • Sodium Sulfate, Na2SO4: 0.9% • Total Arsenic, As: 0.94 mg/L (ppm) • Sodium Nitrate, NaNO3: 0.03% • Sodium Chlorate, NaClO3: 1.25%
