Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Uniform items to be supplied 1. Clothing (Shirts, Pants, etc.) and accessories (shoes, belts, etc.) Attached is a listing of specific items that compose the various Sheriff’s Office uniforms. Uniform items that are acceptable are specifically limited to brand names as listed in this RFP. No alternatives or substitutes will be accepted for those specific items. If no brand name is listed, any manufacturer or brand meeting the line-item criteria will be accepted. When a manufacturer/brand has been specified for a line item, this is the standard set for uniformed employees; these items must be bid brand specific. 2. Ornamentation (Rank insignia, emblems, etc.) For some patches and emblems, the vendor shall be required to supply the patches and emblems. For other patches and emblems, the Sheriff’s Office will provide the patches and emblems to the vendor on a case-bycase basis and the vendor will affix the patches and emblems on the desired pieces of clothing. B. Uniform services to be supplied 1. Fitting The awarded vendor shall provide clothing fitting services when necessary to ensure ideal fitting of a uniform. The awarded vendor’s retail establishment shall have fitting rooms where an employee can try on clothing pieces prior to purchase. 2. Alterations The awarded vendor shall provide clothing alteration services when necessary to ensure ideal fitting of a uniform. The turnaround time for alterations shall be no more than three business days. 3. Customization The awarded vendor shall provide clothing customization services when necessary. The turnaround time for customizations shall be no more than three business days. Customization shall include: a. Silk screening; b. Embroidery; c. Custom engraving of bar pins and name plates; and d. Affixing any required rank insignia markings, patches, emblems, etc. The awarded vendor shall stitch (sew) these items on the clothing. The awarded vendor shall not use glue, iron-on, or other less permanent means to affix these items to the clothing.
