Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: Cache County School District (CCSD) intends to award Safe Haven Defense a contract for purchase and installation of bullet-resistant laminate film for windows & doors at each of our school locations. We researched several companies in the building security industry. They were asked to showcase their products of a thin film that can be applied to existing glass windows and doors, making them resistant to impact threats such as; bombs, severe weather, and shootings including a demonstration and site visits. Safe Haven Defense, LLC is the only company willing to put its product to the test with live demonstrations. This item is one of a kind, which makes it revolutionary in the security industry. The film is the only NIJ and UL rated/independently lab tested laminate on the market. The film provides its uniqueness by more than doubling the break strength (1,100 PSI), tensile strength (34,000 PSI) and thickness (35 Mil) of the film over other leading competitor films. This additional strength gives 10 to 15 minutes of additional delay for anyone attempting to get through the glass. They are the only window film company to provide this mil thickness and still be able to provide a warranty. Safe haven Defense owns the technology, manufacturing and supply of their products. Most similar materials shown in strength and common use would be polycarbonate blend or a glass manufacturer that specializes in “hurricane resistant” glass.
