The Kentucky Department of Corrections is seeking to contract with multiple qualified individuals to conduct ACA Mock Audits. Auditors must have a thorough knowledge of Department of Corrections (DOC) and ACA standards. Auditors cannot be a current Commonwealth of Kentucky employee. Retired DOC employees (i.e. Wardens, Deputy Wardens, Jailers or Probation and Parole employees) and current ACA auditors are preferred. All auditors must be approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Corrections or the Policy and Accreditation Branch Manager prior to conducting an audit. Prior to contract signing, auditors must successfully pass a background check performed by DOC. Auditors will tour the facility or agency; ask questions regarding standards; and review agency documentation of standard compliance. Auditors will interview staff regarding job duties and offenders when necessary. Up to eighteen ACA mock audits will be scheduled each year. The Policy and Accreditation Branch Manager shall determine the total number auditors used for each individual audit. One auditor will be designated as the chairperson who will prepare an audit report and submit the report to the Policy and Accreditation Branch Manager for distribution to the Commissioner and Warden/Director of the facility/division being audited. Institutional audits will be conducted over a three-day period. Division of Probation and Parole, Division of Corrections Training, Central Office, and KCI audits will be conducted over a two-to-three-day period. Pricing: Auditors will receive $500.00 per day. No additional expenses will be authorized for payment.
