1.1.Scaffolding: The intent of this project is to provide scaffold access to the four lunette and four pendentive areas located approximately 53’ above the first floor of the Main Capitol Rotunda so that murals may be installed in these areas in accordance with the schedule outlined below. It is important to note that each area must be able to be accessed in its entirety (likely two tiers), and the scaffolding must be platformed to be able to provide sufficient working space for both the artists installing the murals, and two to three 8’ long folding tables. Each area scaffolded will require a stair tower, wheel rail, and rope. The stair tower will need to be enclosed for security purposes, be OSHA compliant, and provide for necessary protection of the marble floor underneath. The scaffolding contractor will be required to provide all necessary protection egress, signage, and routing of pedestrian traffic information throughout the project. Photos and drawings for the work are provided as Exhibit C. 1.1.1. Provide scaffolding access to the north and south lunettes beginning on April 1, 2024 with a completion date of no later than April 19, 2024. 1.1.2. Scaffolding will remain in place until the anticipated phase 1 completion date of May 31, 2024. 1.1.3. Drawings of the work areas and associated schedules are included in Drawings. 1.1.4. Stair tower enclosures should be constructed of plywood at 8’ height with a padlocked door for access. Provide 5 keys per lock. 1.1.5. Floor protection shall consist of at minimum 2” padding.
