County Schools (“KCS”). The contractor will work with the Knox County Board of Education Strategic Planning Committee (the “Planning Committee”) and the KCS’ Strategy Division to facilitate a strategic planning process that incorporates internal and external stakeholder engagement, organizational visioning (e.g. defining mission and vision), existing initiative-level plans, and qualitative and quantitative research to produce an effective, actionable strategic plan. An effective strategic plan will include long-term goals and measurable objectives communicated in a manner that is accessible to a broad audience. An effective strategic plan will also be constructed in a manner that allows for the yearly development and implementation of an annual action plan to meet established goals. The Strategic Plan should include and work alongside the following: • The Knox County Schools (“KCS”) Annual Action Plan, which translates long-range goals from the Knox County Board of Education (“KCBOE”)’s strategic plan into meaningful and achievable one-year objectives and serves as a one-year roadmap to accelerate student learning and increase academic achievement; and • Districtwide initiative plans, which are existing initiative-level strategic plans specific to major district-level improvement work (ex: the 865 Academies Master Plan, the Region 5 Strategic Plan, etc.).
