The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians (“CTCLUSI”) is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the second year of construction at the Waite Ranch tidal wetland restoration project. The goal is to increase off-channel habitat for native fish and wildlife by restoring hydrologic connection, wetland and floodplain function, and habitat complexity. CTCLUSI Cultural Department staff, Tribal Council, and Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Tribal Citizens contributed to the project design process. The design incorporates opportunities for traditional cultural practices once the site is restored. Continued engagement from Tribal Council and Citizens will last throughout the implementation process.
