Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 MOWING - Mowing shall be performed in such a manner as to obtain a smooth visual appearance with no scalping or excessive grass cuttings. At no time shall visible grass clippings be allowed to remain on the lawn. All walkways, entrance areas, driveways, etc. shall be clear of lawn debris after each mowing. Where wet soil conditions result in rutting, mowing shall be suspended, and the maintenance crew shall notify the Project Manager, prior to their departure, of the location of the problem area. Height of cut: 2-3/4” year round. Frequency of cut: Approximately every seven (7) days, during the peak-growing season. 3.2 EDGING AND WEED WHIPPING - 3.2 EDGING AND WEED WHIPPING Weed whipping and edging of all lawn areas, shrub beds and tree circles shall be done in an industryapproved method taking all precautions to avoid damaging and de-barking trees and shrubs. Edging & weed whipping should be done concurrent with every other mowing. 3.3 RESERVED 3.4 LEAF REMOVAL/DISPOSAL - Leaf and other tree debris removal/disposal shall be performed weekly during the fall months (midSeptember through November). Hand raking is the preferred method; however, alternate methods of removal may be used upon pre-approval of the Project Manager. All piles of leaf, pine needles, or other tree debris to be removed entirely to the best of the contractor’s ability each week. 3.5 PRUNING/SHEARING - Pruning/Shearing of all plant material shall be done twice (2) per year: once in the spring (April/May) and once in the fall in (October/November). Pruning and shaping of plant material shall be performed as per species requirements and pre-approved by the Project Manager prior to start of work.
