Develop a comprehensive strategy related to Elliott State Research Forest (ESRF) funding, including: o Updating key congressional and executive branch actors over the status and plan for creation of the ESRF. o Crafting a joint and comprehensive approach for federal funding in the context of other funding sources (e.g., state funds, timber, carbon, or other revenue) as part of the Department’s overall business plan for the ESRF through its start-up phase and beyond. Develop a potential approach and strategy for advancing other Department areas or programs of interest including: o Abandoned and Derelict Vessels o Illegal camping Review and identify priority potential federal program areas or appropriation accounts relevant to potential Department funding or policy requests associated with the above program areas. Advance the Department’s interests in successful completion of the federal Habitat Conservation Plan for the ESRF as well as securing and promoting broader partnerships tied to successful advancement of the ESRF (as a matter of policy and funding). Do the same for other Department programs or areas of interest (e.g., Abandoned and Derelict Vessels, illegal camping) as applicable.
