This project involves the renovation of sand bunkers on eight holes (#10 – 16 & #18 on the BLACK Course). There will be eighteen (18) sand bunkers to be rebuilt/re-edged. All sand bunkers are being restored at their present locations and their shape will remain mostly the same. No sand bunkers are being removed. It is not a typical rebuild as in past projects at FWGC. Sod will be stripped, sand will be removed, bunker blankets will be removed, internal and external drainage stays as is except vents are replaced (two at each sand bunker), edges are cleaned up/re-edged, capillary concrete is the new base, sand and sod (up to 1,400 s.f. average per sand bunker). All sand bunkers are to be lined with capillary concrete. The design is meant to work around all existing irrigation. All damage to irrigation equipment is the responsibility of the Contractor to fix. Average size sand bunker is 885 s.f.
