Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Develop and implement strategies to retain existing businesses and to recruit new companies and developers. 2. Guide and implement redevelopment opportunities and work with Town staff and maximize opportunities for State and federal funding for these initiatives. 3. Engage new businesses seeking to relocate or expand their operations. Maintain a database containing available land, buildings and contacts, all in an effort to match potential businesses with available facilities. This database should be updated regularly and made available to Town staff, as designated by the First Selectman. Materials should be made available for posting on the Town’s website. 4. Plan and develop strategies working with the First Selectman’s Office, local commissions local groups and Town departments aimed at positive community growth as well as for the general promotion of the Town’s community development efforts. 5. Attend Economic Development Commission as required. Attendance at some Town meetings may be required. Monthly or quarterly reports should be issued to the First Selectman’s Office or its designee. 6. Assist in development/implementation of the POCD if requested. Assist in development of any economic development policies. 7. Assist in developing resources to promote local Workforce Development. 8. Engage stakeholder groups and individuals in the economic development process. 9. Other services that may be required by the Town.
