Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor shall furnish and install all supplementary materials required to perform and complete installation of stair tread system (tread, riser, cove base, and rubber sheet goods). 2. Contractor shall include any and all work associated with stair tread, riser, cove base, and sheet goods replacements. 3. Contractor shall field verify quantities during pre-bid meeting prior to submission of bid. 4. Contractor to clean up all rubbish and debris from site and building on a daily basis. This includes off-site disposal of all rubbish and debris. Tucks or dumpsters to haul off material by this Contractor. 5. Contractor to clean all floors in areas of work on a daily basis. 6. Scope of work to include but not limited to quantities identified in SLPS District Facilities Stair Treads document. 7. Section Includes: a. Thermoset-rubber base. b. Rubber stair accessories. 8. Action Submittals: a. Product Data: For each type of product. b. Product Schedule: For resilient base and accessory products. Use same designations indicated on Drawings. 9. Maintenance Material Submittals a. Furnish extra materials [from the same product run] that match products installed and that are packaged with protective covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents. b. Furnish not less than 50 linear feet of each type, color, pattern, and size of resilient wall base product installed. 10. Delivery, Storage, and Handling a. Store resilient products and installation materials in dry spaces protected from the weather, with ambient temperatures maintained within the range recommended by the manufacturer, but not less than 50 deg F or more than 90 deg F. 11. Field Conditions a. Maintain ambient temperatures within range recommended by manufacturer, but not less than 70 deg F or more than 95 deg F, in spaces to receive resilient products during the following periods: i. 48 hours before installation. ii. During installation. iii. 48 hours after installation. b. After installation and until Substantial Completion, maintain ambient temperatures within the range recommended by manufacturer, but not less than 55 deg F or more than 95 deg F. c. Install resilient products after other finishing operations, including painting, have been completed. 12. Thermoset-Rubber Base a. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following: i. Johnsonite. b. Product Standard: ASTM F 1861, Type TS (rubber, vulcanized thermoset), Group I (solid, homogeneous). i. Style and Location: Style B, Cove. c. Thickness: 0.125 inch d. Height: 4 inches e. Lengths: Coils in manufacturer's standard length. f. Outside Corners: Job formed. g. Inside Corners: Job formed. h. Colors: Refer to SLPS District Facilities Stair Treads Exhibit 13. Rubber Stair Accessories a. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: As determined by testing identical products according to ASTM E 648 or NFPA 253 by a qualified testing agency. i. Critical Radiant Flux Classification: Class I, not less than 0.45 W/sq. cm. b. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following: i. Johnsonite c. Stair Treads: ASTM F 2169. i. Type: TS (rubber, vulcanized thermoset). ii. Class: 2 (pattern; embossed, grooved, or ribbed). iii. Group: 2 (with contrasting color for the visually impaired). Contrasting Stripe color:????? iv. Nosing Style: Round v. Thickness: 1/4 inch and tapered to back edge. vi. Size: Lengths and depths to fit each stair tread in one piece. d. Separate Risers: Smooth, flat; in height that fully covers substrate; produced by same manufacturer as treads and recommended by manufacturer for installation with treads. i. Style: Coved toe, 7 inches high by length matching treads. ii. Thickness: Manufacturer's standard. e. Landing Tile: Matching treads; produced by same manufacturer as treads and recommended by manufacturer for installation with treads. f. Color and Patterns i. Please refer SLPS District Facilities Stair Treads document for color selection 14. Installation Materials a. Trowel able Leveling and Patching Compounds: Latex-modified, portlandcement-based or blended hydraulic-cement-based formulation provided or approved by resilient-product manufacturer for applications indicated. b. Adhesives: Water-resistant type recommended by resilient-product manufacturer for resilient products and substrate conditions indicated. c. Stair-Tread Nose Filler: Two-part epoxy compound recommended by resilient stair-tread manufacturer to fill nosing substrates that do not conform to tread contours.
