Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall remove all steel roofing, trim, screws, and underlayment from the existing barn roof. Contractor shall thoroughly inspect the sheathing wood for signs of deterioration or damage and replace sheathing as agreed upon by authorized DNR staff. Payment for sheathing replacement shall be based on actual quantities. The contractor shall then prepare the barn roof sheathing for installation of new underlayment. Contractor shall install self-adhered, Grace Ice and Water Shield, or approved equal, for 24” minimum over roof ridges, eaves and rake edges. Contractor shall then install synthetic Owens Corning Deck Defense, or approved equal, underlayment over the entire roof. The Contractor shall then install aluminum drip edge on the entire perimeter of the roof, color to be dark brown. The Contractor shall then install fiberglass reinforced shingles (See below list of approved shingles) over the entire roof. Contractor shall install shingles with galvanized roofing nails, as recommended by the manufacturer. Contractor shall follow all manufacturer’s instructions for proper installation of all materials. Corrigan Barn roof is approximately 3,000 SF of surface area for roofing, field verify all quantities.
