Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Quote (RFQ) aims to obtain competitive solicitations from qualified bidders to provide decedent body transportation services for five years, renewable in 12-month increments. The decedents will be picked up from the location of death in Riverside County and transported to the Coroner’s Office in Indio and on some occasions Perris. The contractor shall verify their identification with the Sheriff’s Office staff or other persons present who may personally know the decedent, tag from the Coroner, hospital ID bracelet, or hospital staff. During Fiscal Year 2022-2023, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Bureau had 1,843 cases. Riverside County has three geographical areas: Area #1 FY 22/23 had 2,200 cases, Area # 2 FY 22/23 had 856 cases, and Area #3 FY 22/23 had 28 cases. The number of cases to the awarded bidder is not guaranteed. Service Areas: The service areas for this RFQ are for Area #1, Area #2, and Area # 3. Area #1 – Western County: Cabazon west to Riverside County’s Western County line with Orange County and San Bernardino, including south to San Diego County Area #2 – Central County: Whitewater area east to and including Desert Center and south to San Diego County line. Area #3 – Eastern County: From Desert Center east to County line and south to Imperial County line.
