Specifications include, but are not limited to: WSU is requesting DCS services to create densified carbon/carbon prototypes. WSU will provide the green parts to be densified by the service provider. All green parts will be cylinders. WSU will provide tooling for the densification process if the service provider does not have a suitable pre-existing tool on hand. Cylinder diameters will range between 1” (5 tons, 1500 Amps) and 6” (100 tons, 10k Amps). Cylinder final heights are expected to range between 0.25” and 4”. Precursor materials for the green parts may include: Carbon fiber reinforced coal tar pitch matrix composites Thermoset matrix carbon fiber composites Thermoplastic matrix fiber reinforced composites
