Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Fish must be in healthy condition per DNR established standards. b. The DNR will not accept any fish that are not obtained from Minnesota genetic strains (Minn. Stat. sec.17.4987). Stocks that are not from a Minnesota source do not meet genetic policies and stocking objectives of the state of Minnesota for this project. c. The DNR will collect a random sample of fish scales or fins from fish stocks that have a strain requirement. d. The DNR has the option of collecting a sample(s) of fish prior to delivery for genetic stock or age determination at the DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife cost. e. The DNR may reject any shipment that does not meet specified requirements. f. All fish must be greater than or equal to 10.0 inches in length, the DNR will require that any questionable- sized fish will be sorted through a No. 40 grader or other approved equipment by the DNR that will guarantee the size of the fish will be larger than ten inches. Fish less than 10.0 inches in length will not be accepted. Average weight must be between 3 – 6 fish per pound. g. Eggs, fry, and resultant fish stocks will be kept separate from any other fish stocks that may be maintained on the Contractor’s premises or in licensed waters. In addition, the DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife has the option of collecting a sample of fish prior to delivery for electrophoretic stock determination at the DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife’s expense. h. The DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife will work with the Contractor during loading and/or at the time of delivery to assess quality, quantity, and condition of fish being delivered. The DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife reserves the right to reject any shipment that does not meet the requirements as specified in this document or is deemed unhealthy.
