The contractor will purchase and install single mode fiber between the Dakota Judicial Center to 4 IDF rooms located in the Dakota County Law Enforcement Center. The contractor will be responsible for measuring out the needed cable and creating cable access to each room as needed. Materials to Purchase The following is a list of material the contractor will need to provide for this work. It is not a complete list of materials but covers most of the larger items needed: • Fiber Optic cable (amount to be determined by contractor) • Fiber termination boxes • Miscellaneous materials for running cable, installing fiber termination boxes, and sealing as needed. Contractor Responsibilities The following is a list of tasks the contractor is responsible to complete. • Pull 8 strands of single mode fiber optic cable from the Dakota County Judicial Center Data Room to each of the IDF rooms located in the Dakota County Law Enforcement Center (32 strands total, see map below for reference) o Contractor is encouraged to use existing cable trays and paths but may need to expand current paths or create new paths to reach each location. • Terminate all the strands in the main data closet as well as each IDF room. • Ensure there is a service loop for each strand on each end of cable. • Test the connection of each strand upon completion of the pull and send the test results to the project manager. • Mount the fiber termination boxes in an accessible location of each room.
