MnDOT RoadVista Stripemaster 3, SM3-RL-QD-C Portable Retroreflectometer or MnDOT Approved Equal. The portable retroreflectometer shall be capable of measuring RL (nighttime visibility of pavement markings) and nighttime color (CIE1931xy) of pavement markings. Measurements shall be compliant to the following standards: ASTM E 1710, EN 1436, ASTM E 2177, ASTM E 2832, ASTM E 2367 and ASTM D 6628. General Design: The portable retroreflectometer shall be a folding, portable unit with an adjustable height extractable handle, and rechargeable lithium battery. Data Acquisition / Output and Instrument Control: The portable retroreflectometer shall have an integrated display and control panel for standalone operation of the unit. The instrument shall measure the coefficient of retroreflected luminance at night (RL) in both dry and wet conditions and nighttime color (x,y coordinates). Accessories / Consumables: The bid shall include a complete set of manuals and schematics (both electronic and printed) along with hard copies of necessary software. It shall also include a carrying case, a RL calibration target, a rechargeable lithium battery to power the instrument, and accessories necessary for wet pavement marking testing.
