Specifications include, but are not limited to: All cleaning, edging and line trimming shall be performed during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. The City may delegate priority areas due to high use or programmed internments. All cleaning, edging and line trimming shall be completed every two (2) weeks throughout the entire cemetery as identified in Attachment C. Contractor shall furnish a schedule that identifies daily activities in each area. Contractor may be required to move to another area or asked to cease work during interment services. Lawn areas shall be edged to an even height, not to exceed one and one half (1 ½) inch. Scalping and varying heights will be considered unsatisfactory to City Standards. The Contractor may be penalized up to the full cost of the trimming plus a re-inspection fee for each occurrence. All line trimming tasks initiated in the cemetery shall be completed during the same working day (trimming, surface sweeping, etc.). Lawn areas adjacent to sidewalks, curbs and hard surface pads or patios, shall be edged with a bladed lawn edger. Lawn areas adjacent to chain link fences, around signposts, underneath structures, in sidewalk expansion joints, and headstones shall be edged with a line trimmer. All hard surface areas (headstones, sidewalks, DG areas, etc.) shall be clean and free of debris generated by edging and line trimming services during the same workday. The Contractor may be penalized up to the full cost of the trimming plus a re-inspection fee for each occurrence of unsatisfactory cleaning. Chemical control of grass will be permitted along chain link fences, around signposts, underneath structures, around certain trees and in sidewalk expansion joints. Chemical spraying must be performed in accordance with the State of Arizona Department of Agriculture’s Pest Management Division (PMD) Rules and Regulations. The Contractor is required to be properly licensed for the specific pest control to be utilized. The Contractor shall furnish properly certified and trained personnel and equipment for routine grass control and spraying. If the Contractor is not licensed for the specific pest control to be utilized, a licensed subcontractor may be used. The subcontractor and its personnel are then bound by the above requirements. All chemical applications must be documented and submitted to the Parks Department representative within twenty-four (24) hours of application.
