Any Wisconsin-based local public health agency or Tribal health center is eligible to apply for funding. A multi-jurisdictional health consortium may also apply. Projects must address one or multiple housingrelated environmental health hazards in an agency’s jurisdiction. Examples of eligible projects to improve tenant and homeowner environmental health literacy may include: • Community programming to promote awareness of housing hazards and available resources (hosting a community workshop, having an informational booth at a local fair, etc.) • Creation and distribution of toolkits or supplies that address a housing health hazard (radon test kit, lead test kit, etc.) • Informational materials for distribution by community health workers or other communitybased organizations who work on housing environmental health hazards and interact with tenants or homeowners. • Communication materials about environmental health hazards in the home (webpage dedicated to environmental hazards, informational videos, etc.) • Training workshops for staff to bolster their skills and capacity to address housing related environmental health issues. • Collaborate with trusted community leaders to prepare and deliver information to neighborhoods with different cultural and linguistic needs. Targeted effort to educate tenants and homeowners on home hazards that may affect a particular geographical area or demographic. • “Through The Cracks” - Create a map of a city within your jurisdiction that identifies properties with a high risk of vapor intrusion and conduct outreach based on those findings. (See “Through The Cracks” toolkit for more information)
