Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Unit shall be free standing. Should a stand be required for ergonomic operation, the stand shall be included in the bid. 2. A unit that is used, shopworn, demonstrator prototype, re-manufactured, or a discontinued models is not acceptable. 3. Testing Range: Maximum load capacity of not less than 300,000 pounds, minimum testing force shall be no greater than 1 % of the maximum. 4. The hydraulic unit shall be supplied as a complete, fully integrated assembly. 5. The hydraulic piston shall be protected from dirt and debris by some form of cover. 6. The compression machine shall be controlled by a standalone Windows based computer or an internal computer with a touchscreen human machine interface. 7. Should the compression machine be controlled by a standalone computer the manufacturer will specify the computer requirements. The vendor will not supply the computer. The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) will supply the monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, and computer to run the software and control the instrument. 8. All software to operate the compression machine shall be included in the bid. 9. The compression machine shall have a travel limit switch to prevent damage to the hydraulic piston. Should this feature not be a standard feature this option shall be included in the bid. 10.The compression machine shall have a maximum capacity protection feature. This protection protects the hydraulic and load frame from exceeding maximum capacity.
