Specifications include, but are not limited to: Complete the release work as indicated on the individual site Project Proposals. The specifications indicated on the Project Proposals are part of the contract requirements. Review them carefully. • Sever all competing stems within 4” of the ground and below all live branches. • Keep all severed brush, trees, branches, etc. as low to the ground as possible, off crop trees, and at least 20 feet from all maintained roads • Any vegetation, including aspen, birch, balsam fir and shrubs, that is not competing with crop trees shall be reserved. • Keep all roads and trails on the sites open and not blocked with trees, branches, vehicles, or debris resulting from this operation. • Do not cut down standing dead timber. • Care is to be taken to minimize damage to residual trees during felling. • Reserve all vegetation that is not within the treatment radius of target trees. • All severed brush, trees, branches, etc. should be as low to ground as possible but, in all cases, shall be within 6 feet of the ground. • No trees are to be dropped on or left standing to fall later onto roads, trails, wetlands, and private property. • Treatments will be conducted in the fall/early winter months. Contractors will not conduct treatments when snow depths exceed 6 inches.
