Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1: Prescribed Burn Spring 2024: 46.3 Acres Description: Contractor shall complete 46.3 acres of prescribed fire on the areas labeled in Attachment A. All contracted acres are to be burned. Firebreaks can be installed between March 15, 2024 and no later than 48 hours prior to the planned date of the prescribed burn, but fire must be performed between March 15 and April 15, 2024. Contractor shall provide an approved burn plan to the DNR Project Manager prior to commencing the burn and is responsible for establishing firebreaks. Contractor shall adhere to any local or state burn ban. Contractor shall provide notice of the burns according to the following requirements: ● Written notification to the immediate Environmental Service Division (ESD) Field Office of the DNR, Carroll County Communications, adjacent landowners, and all smoke sensitive sites in the area 30 days prior to the planned date of the prescribed burn. ● Written and verbal notification of the approved prescribed burn to the immediate Environmental Service Division (ESD) Field Office of the DNR, Carroll County Communications, adjacent landowners and all smoke sensitive sites a minimum of 24 hours prior to the prescribed burn. ● Verbal notification to Carroll County Communications immediately prior to the prescribed burn. Task 2: Herbicide Application Spring 2024: 32.9 Acres Description: Contractor must apply Volunteer, or the generic equivalent pre approved by the DNR Project Manager, to treat new growth of cool season grasses following Task 1. Herbicide application shall occur after the prescribed burn when the grass regrowth has reached 2-4 inches in height. The highest rate of the herbicide allowed by the label shall be used. The treatment area is outlined in Attachment B. Contractor shall hold an Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicators License issued by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) Pesticide Bureau and provide the license # to the DNR Project Manager.
