Construction Manager (DCI Group) has been engaged for this Project to serve as advisor to DAS and to provide assistance in administrating the Contract for Design between DAS and the Designer according to separate contract between DAS and Construction Manager. DAS is currently seeking design services from qualified firms for a project consisting of repairs and/or replacements to approximately 75’ of deteriorating section of the Terrace Hill retaining wall. Complete design for removal replacement of deteriorated portion of wall including, but not necessarily limited to: 1.3.5.3.1 Potential salvage and reuse of existing brick material. 1.3.5.3.2 Identification and mitigation of contributing factors to wall failures. 1.3.5.3.3 Coordination with the State Historical Preservation Office on proposed repairs and materials. 1.3.5.3.4 The retaining wall is located in the City of Des Moines right of way. The designer shall be responsible for initial discussions with the city to establish requirements. Fees for further city coordination will be negotiated following initial coordination meeting with the City of Des Moines. 1.3.5.3.5 The designer shall include all site surveying necessary for design. 1.3.5.3.6 Design shall include the removal and replacement of existing construction as required to accommodate repairs or replacements. That shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, existing road, curbs, and fencing including intrusion detection on fencing. 1.3.5.3.7 If temporary shoring is required, fees for design of temporary shoring will be negotiated at a later time if necessary. 1.3.5.3.8 Site restoration 1.3.5.3.9 Geotechnical survey shall be the responsibility of the designer.
