Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 Prosecute felony and misdemeanor cases involving rape, child molestation, sodomy, child endangerment, child abuse, child pornography, and other related charges. 2.2 Reviews police reports and evidence to decide whether, and with what crimes a person should be charged. 2.3 Represent the State at bond settings, preliminary hearings, arraignments, plea hearings, motion hearings, sentencing and other docket settings. 2.4 Meets with victims, witnesses, law enforcement and experts. 2.5 Argues motions to set bond including requesting bond conditions that will ensure victim safety. 2.6 Evaluate evidence of possible bond violations and prepare and argue motions to revoke bond. 2.7 Meet with victims to discuss possible case outcomes including guilty pleas and trials. 2.8 Meet with victims to prepare for testifying at various hearings. 2.9 Takes depositions and monitors depositions of defense counsel. 2.10 Prepares plea bargain offers and further negotiations. 2.11 Prepares pleadings for filing. 2.12 Analyzes the facts pertaining to a case, creates charges, and works up the case in preparation for trial. 2.13 Able to research and argue Motion to Suppress Motions. 2.14 Prepare and try jury and bench trials. 2.15 Researches and defends post-conviction relief motions. 2.16 Reviews probation violation reports for possible revocation. 2.17 Consults with colleagues on matters of law, trial strategy and negotiation practices. 2.18 Attend monthly meetings with several multi-disciplinary teams including law enforcement, Children’s Division and the Child Advocacy Center. 2.19 Communicate with victim advocates, keeping them informed of case status. 2.20 Performs related additional duties as required and assigned. 2.21 Handling search warrants involving child pornography and other related matters.
