Specifications include, but are not limited to: Typically, specimens submitted for toxicological testing include blood, urine, and vitreous. Results received include qualitative urine drug screen, quantitative blood drug screen and blood volatile screen. If the blood volatile screen is positive, then a vitreous volatile screen would be performed. The contracted laboratory will be expected to follow a standard progression of testing required to make a forensic diagnosis in a reasonable fashion and time. Testing may include but is not limited to: • blood-alcohol and drug screens (with quantitation) • electrolyte levels in vitreous fluid • carbon monoxide saturation • extended opioid and fentanyl analogs • novel psychoactive substances • poisons and heavy metals
