Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Milwaukee Department of City Development (DCD) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (the “Contractor”) to provide design-build services for landscaping and site amenities at select projects within the City of Milwaukee. The 2024 Healing Space Initiative will build relaxing natural environments on available city-owned vacant lots while eliminating blighted spaces and engaging residents throughout the City of Milwaukee. Projects may include pathways, benches, flower gardens, Free Little Libraries, and other amenities. Healing Spaces are resident-led designs and collaborations. By engaging in these activities, resident volunteers are combating urban blight and making their blocks better places to live. The 2024 Healing Spaces Initiative will revitalize two vacant lots within the City of Milwaukee. The firm selected to do this work will create designs based on community comments—these new spaces will provide a welcoming respite to area residents. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials, supervision, equipment and services as may be necessary to complete the design and build of two Healing Spaces in 2024.
