Specifications include, but are not limited to: • work with the MDE, Office of Special Education staff to prioritize, schedule, organize, and to provide technical assistance to teachers and administrators on evidence-based literacy strategies such as the Science of Reading and High Quality Instructional Materials; • provide appropriate coaching and professional development services that address reading deficiencies in schools to ensure that there is cohesive, sustained, intensive and classroomfocused professional development and coaching that is rigorous, engaging, and aligned to the Mississippi College and Career-Readiness Standards; • develop open, professional, and collaborative work relationships with SSIP regional coordinators, SSIP literacy coaches, district-level school personnel, school-based literacy coaches, principals, and teachers; • effectively identify the literacy and instructional needs of assigned school and teachers to prioritize, schedule, organize, and provide technical assistance to teachers to increase grade-level reading outcomes for students by the end of 3rd & 8th grades; • assist SSIP regional coordinators, content specialists, and literacy coaches with the implementation of new and innovative resources to improve literacy instruction for students with disabilities grades K-8
