Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, etc. to clean kitchen exhaust hoods, all associated duct work and fans and inspection the suppression systems in various ISU Athletics buildings. All exhaust hoods/duct work and fire suppression inspections must be cleaned/inspected as per NFPA96 guidelines- Uniform Fire Code Industry Standards which will allow ISU/owner to weld on the exhaust hoods/duct work immediately following the cleaning. Contractor shall have a minimum of 5 years of commercial kitchen exhaust hood and duct cleaning experience. Contractor shall replace fusible links on the suppression system based on the inspection. Pricing to replace fusible links can be provided on the Line-Item Tab. B. Pricing for each hood system, duct work, suppression system, fusible links is all inclusive on the Line Items tab so include everything that needs be included for the work. ISU will not pay for additional fees for travel, mileage, per diem, parking, etc. C. Cleaning cooking exhaust hoods and ducts, grill covers, and grease filters. a. Protect all areas and equipment adjoining work area to prevent soiling or damage to those surfaces. b. Apply degreaser, then steam. The Contractor must exercise extreme caution during the cleaning process to avoid damage to surrounding equipment and materials. c. Seal any leaks in the access hatch panel gaskets which become apparent as a result of the cleaning process. The new gaskets must be approved by Owner’s Representative. d. Clean grease filters. Grease filters CAN NOT be washed in a parking lot where the wastewater would go down the storm sewer. Grease filters can be cleaned by the following method: • Filter(s) can be taken off site for cleaning. e. Contractor shall repair any caulking that is damaged by Contractor employees during the cleaning process.
