PORCH DECK REPAIR The wood of the existing porch deck is rotting and needs to be replaced. Utilize temporary shoring to raise the existing front porch roof and columns up off the decking. The existing porch deck should be removed, along with the stair treads and stair railing. Flashing should be installed over all pressure treated wood joists and any rotted stair stringer and newel posts should be repaired or replaced as needed. New decking and stair treads should be installed using Ipe 3.5” wide tongue and groove wood decking. In order to be considered, Bidders must submit documentation experience working with Ipe wood with references and any applicable certification. Rotted sections on railing should be replaced as needed. Clean all painted surfaces (including porch ceiling, columns, railing, posts, etc.) and paint all new and repaired surfaces as needed. Photos of the existing porch are attached. ROOF REPAIRS Repair flashings around the perimeter of the main roof of the house. Remove and replace any rotting wood fascia and trim boards and paint any replaced parts. Remove board(s) on front porch roof remaining from former sign mount and repair roof as needed. GUTTER INSTALLATION Install historically accurate half round 6” copper gutter on the front porch with a decorative copper rain chain downspout down to the ground level to drain into an existing subsurface drainpipe at the corner of the porch.
