Specifications include, but are not limited to: • LCQQQ must operate on the MassHunter software platform for data acquisition and processing. This requirement is critical in ensuring the seamless method transfer between existing Agilent GCMS, LCQQQ, and LCTOF instrumentation, in use at SLED, which also operates under MassHunter software. It allows data to be collected and reports generated in a manner consistent with the existing protocols and allows new data to be compared to legacy data. The fact that the staff have used MassHunter software for many years and have developed specific protocols unique to the MassHunter software makes it imperative that the LCQQQ operates on MassHunter software to reduce training time and ensure maximum productivity. • System must come standard in the data processing software to allow “blank offset” to be selected as the origin for the curve fit to quickly remove the contribution of matrix to the sample. • Must have at least two independent temperature zones. • Sensitivity in positive ion mode such that a 1 pg injection of reserpine will be detected with a S/N ratio of at least 850,000:1. • Sensitivity in negative ion mode such that a 1 pg injection of chloramphenicol will be detected with a S/N ratio of at least 850,000:1. • Instrument detection limit (IDL) in positive ion mode of less than 3.5 fg for a 10 fg injection of reserpine. • Instrument detection limit (IDL) in negative ion mode of less than 4 fg for a 10 fg injection of chloramphenicol. • Must have a resistive capillary with less than or equal to 0.6 mm internal diameter to allow for improved ion transmission and faster polarity switching. • Must have hyperbolic quadrupole rods to provide higher resolving power and better transmission at high resolution. • Must have curved and tapered hexapole collision cell with axial acceleration voltage to allow for the maximum transmission of ions in a small geometry.
