Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project consists of the painting of a 2 million gallon elevated, steel potable water tank. 1. Tank Exterior (Coating System 1) a. Provide containment system. b. Abrasive blast surface per SSPC-SP6, and apply coating system to surface. c. Surfaces shall include but not be limited to tank sphere, legs, fluted column, ornamental skirt, overflow piping, concrete foundation supports, manways and vents. 2. Tank Wet Interior (Coating System 2) a. Abrasive blast surface per SSPC-SP10, and apply coating system to surface. b. Surfaces shall include but not be limited to interior of tank sphere, dry riser, interior platform, railings, overflow piping and weir, fill riser piping from tank sphere to automatic control valve, supports, and manways. c. Re-seal lap joints in the roof as needed. 3. Tank Dry Interior (Coating System 3) (dry belly of tank and fill riser piping) a. Abrasive blast surface per SSPC-SP10, and apply coating system to surface. b. Surfaces shall include but not be limited to belly of tank sphere, fill riser piping, supports, valves and manways. 4. Tank Dry Interior (Coating System 4) (rusted, abraded and areas with loose paint) a. Abrasive blast surface per SSPC-SP6 or Power Tool Clean surface per SSPC-SP11 as applicable, and apply coating system to surface. b. Surfaces shall include but not be limited to the fluted column, overflow piping, dry riser, ladders, platforms, railings, supports, hangers and manways. Work is only required on the portions of these surfaces that are rusted, abraded or have loose paint. c. Clean surfaces of spent abrasive, paint chips and debris. 5. Disinfect interior of tank. 6. Restore all turf, concrete and pavement areas that were damaged during the Contractor's operations.
