Specifications include, but are not limited to: 6.1 The supervisor assigned to this contract shall be knowledgeable in matters relating to the specific job tasks for this project, be competent to work with a minimum of supervision and possess a working knowledge of principles, methods and techniques used in the following: a) Caring for and maintaining grounds plant life. b) Safe operation of powered grounds equipment and tools. c) Safety precautions in using pesticides/herbicides/fungicides and other plant chemicals and soil amendments. d) Work leadership and scheduling activities of a ground’s operation. e) Performing preventative maintenance on powered/non powered grounds equipment and plant life. f) Shall be knowledgeable in the area of plant identification and health and be able to make recommendations regarding plant maintenance, and replacement as required. 6.2 The supervisor assigned to this contract shall have the authority to facilitate the work, prioritize the activities, participate in decision concerning maintenance and grounds keeping, assist the authorized designee in making on-site inspections and assist in coordinating the facilities operational needs and requirements. 6.3 Tucson location, the contractor shall provide one part-time employee 2 hours per day for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 6.4 If additional time or staffing is needed to complete the scope of work contractor shall do so at no additional charge to the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA). 6.5 The Employee must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in grounds keeping maintenance and plant life experience. 7. Parking Lot/Sidewalk Area 7.1 The contractor shall maintain all parking lot and sidewalk areas as follows: a. In each visit, clean loose dirt and debris in parking lot area using a handheld blower. b. Contractor to restrict the use of handheld blower on high pollution days. c. All dirt, debris and weeds or tree clipping shall be removed from the property by contractor at the end of their wokday. d. Keep all cracks in sidewalks and parking lots free of debris, weeds, grass e. Keep all parking areas free of debris, large build-ups of dirt, free weeds and /or grass that may be found growing in cracks f. Maintain walkways with removal of debris and weeds. g. Power wash two (2) walk ways quarterly, East and West walkways in Tucson. h. Maintain area around vacuum breaker and valve box free of debris and weeds. 8. Weed Control 8.1 The contractor shall perform weed control as follows: a) Maintain all surface free of intruding grasses and weeds at all times, and seasons of the year. b) Maintain all grass and turf areas free of intruding weeds, ground clovers. c) Maintain all native vegetation areas, decorative rock areas, and decomposed granite area free of intruding weeds d) Keep all fence lines, concrete areas, edging and grounds free of weeds e) Maintain decorative rock areas
