Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.The Contractor shall remove decking section (8 Feet approximately) at a time to expose lateral runners and cross supports. The Contractor shall cut the post set in the lakebed at decking level or at a point where solid original post becomes solid with no rot or decay. 2.The Contractor shall cut to flat a 16-inch section of this post (no more than one third shall be trimmed) and bolt a new post at this point by flattening the new post in the same manner. The flattened area shall be 16 inches in length. The Contractor shall use galvanized bolts to join the 2-post applying water seal at the point of cuts and bolts. 3.The Contractor shall supply and install new 2 inch by 10-inch cross supports, one each on both sides of the post splice and bolt through both cross supports and post to re-enforce. 4.The Contractor shall provide and install new lateral supports on 16-inch centers starting on the outside edges and working to the center totaling 5 laterals. (Centers may not work out to exact 16 inches and that is acceptable.)
