Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Zipper Machine Operators – The Contractor shall provide a minimum of four (4) certified Zipper Machine Operators. All Zipper Machine Operators shall be certified to operate a Zipper Machine by Lindsay Transportation Solutions. Names and contact information of the Contractor’s Zipper Machine Operators shall be provided to the State. Verification of training will be obtained from Lindsay Transportation Solutions prior to the award of the contract. Each Zipper Machine Operator shall be properly trained and certified to operate the Zipper Machine. Training can be arranged through Lindsay Transportation Solutions (manufacturer of the Zipper Machine) by contacting Kurt Sampson at (402) 933-6418. The cost of the training is the responsibility of the Contractor. The Operator shall be knowledgeable of the duties and be alert and observant in operating the Zipper Machine. The Zipper Machine Operator can forgo training by providing proof of at least five (5) years of experience and operation of a Lindsay Transportation Solutions Barrier Transfer Machine within the last twelve (12) months. The responsibilities of the Zipper Machine Operators are: 1. Operate the Zipper Machine (deploying approximately 12.25 miles of the moveable barriers) on all working days as defined by Section 1.38, Working Day; 2. Provide daily preventive maintenance and repairs for the two (2) Zipper Machines; 3. Provide weekly inspection and preventive maintenance of the Zipper Lane Barriers; 4. Do daily pre-trip check and log of the Zipper Machines; and 5. Keep records of the daily pre-trip check and logs, and all repairs to the Zipper Machines, and submit to the State. 6, Standby at the west end of the Zipper Lane with truck when the Zipper Lane is open (5:30 am to 9:00 am) to realign moveable barriers from the inside the Zipper Lane due to a potential motor vehicle accident. 7. Standby at the Zipper Hale with truck when the Zipper Lane is open (5:30 am to 9:00 am) to realign moveable barriers from the outside the Zipper Lane due to a potential motor vehicle accident.
