Specifications include, but are not limited to: Analysis of the need for an operational presence of the Rhode Island State Police (RISP) on Aquidneck Island including evaluation of calls for service, response times to calls for service, crimes, emergencies, patrols (land and water) and presence to support population and traffic changes due to seasonal visitors and events. Outcome of the study should result in recommendations for the level of operations required by the Rhode Island State Police on Aquidneck Island including: number of required employees to be assigned to the area, communications role and need for a permanent or temporary stationed presence. Analysis should include all nine (9) municipalities within the former Rhode Island State Police Portsmouth Barracks patrol jurisdiction (listed below in section “A”). Note: The State Police Portsmouth Barracks is currently not operational and has been closed since 2012.
