Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The project consists of the installation of a Contractor-furnished generator and a Contractor-furnished automatic transfer switch to back up power to the entire facility. Work consists of setting this equipment, new distribution equipment, conduit/wire, intercepting/refeeding loads, replacement of an electrical panel, addition of a welding outlet, and other electrical work. The installation of natural gas piping and regulator for the generator is also included. B. Coordinate downtime of the facility with the Owner in advance per the specific notes on the drawings. C. Areas surrounding the project site will be occupied during construction and may be sensitive to construction activities. Coordinate all construction with the Owner. D. Below is a list of some common requirements outlined in the Specification. Refer to the Specification for more detailed information for these and all other items. 1. Conduit penetrations through walls shall be sealed. 2. Underground conduit shall be buried at a depth per NEC and backfilled and compacted. Restoration of disturbed sodding shall be by the Owner. 3. Minimum conduit size shall be 1/2", 3/4" for homeruns. 4. Receptacles and switches shall be 20-amp commercial grade. 5. Conduits, junction boxes, wiring, and equipment shall be labeled per NEC. 6. Provide a green ground conductor throughout all new electrical work. 7. Provide separate neutral for each electrical phase. 8. Inside building, all wiring shall be installed in EMT conduit using set screw or compression fittings.
