Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Scope of each facility’s specific fire inspections are listed in its “Fire Inspection Worksheet”. • Perform semi-annual and quarterly testing of fire alarm systems according to Rhode Island Fire Safety Code [RIUFC] rules and regulations. • Provide an itemized list each quarter of the devices tested to include, at a minimum, the quantity, type, and location of the devices tested that quarter. • Make note of any potential deficiencies on the system and provide list to FMO after each test. • 100% testing and cleaning of all devices at least once every twelve (12) month period. • Contractor needs a twenty-four (24) hour emergency telephone number posted on the fire alarm control unit to respond to service or for the fire department to call in event of an alarm. • Notify the Authority Having Jurisdiction [AHJ] and FMO a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours prior to conducting tests. • If any impairments are found, the contractor is to correct them immediately and submit an invoice to the FMO for Purchase Order based off Fire inspection Worksheet, if applicable. • Contractor must notify the FMO and the AHJ immediately of any impairments found that have not been corrected. Contractor is to submit a quote to correct outstanding issues post haste. • Certification shall be on standardized inspection form; Uniform Fire Alarm Test Report, and hardcopies must be submitted to both the State Fire Marshal and Facilities Management for each building within ten (10) days of the completion of the test. The contractor is to maintain a copy for their records. • Invoicing and other paperwork needs to be emailed to FMO for proper tracking, maintenance of records and fast payment processing. Physical mailings are discouraged due to delays. • Invoices must be specific to the work performed, aligned with the Fire Inspection Worksheet template, and submitted directly to FMO for funds to be released through the State Purchasing system. Invoices must indicate the day of the test and associated Purchase Order [PO] number. • Sprinkler systems are to have quarterly and semi-annual inspections coordinated by contractor and performed at same time as the fire alarm. Contractor may have a licensed subcontractor perform this work according to RIUFC and NFPA standards. • Sprinkler systems shall be clearly tagged, and an itemized inspection report given to the FMO. • Sprinkler reports shall include projected future required testing of related components so that a service request by FMO can be made for these additional requirements. • Suppression Systems such as Halon, Clean Agent [FM-200], ANSUL or similar Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems, and HazMat Suppression systems are to be inspected and serviced semiannually and concurrent with the fire alarm.
