Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Tennessee System is seeking a vendor to provide a software solution to manage teacher education apprenticeships around the state. The Grow Your Own Center is leading this charge as Tennessee is the first state to register teacher education as an apprenticeship, federally. There are many providers of apprenticeship management platforms, but the vast majority have not been designed to meet the demands of teacher education, especially as it relates to a collaborative platform intended for college faculty and K-12 mentor teachers to collaboratively evaluate a teacher apprentice. For this reason, the University has piloted two teacher education apprenticeship vendors in 2023 and we have attempted a software development project to build our own solution with the goal of: Solidifying our requirements and our “nice to haves”; Confirming that a vendor is needed (versus a self-built solution); Determining whether a generic apprenticeship platform could work or whether we need something that includes teacher education as an industry
