Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide classroom and behind the wheel driver education. MPS has identified a large disparity in the number of youth within the City of Milwaukee who possess a driver’s license. In an effort to eliminate potential barriers to obtaining a driver’s license, the MPS Drive program was developed to offer free Driver Education to all age-eligible MPS students. Paired with the Community-Based Driver Education program, young people throughout Milwaukee will have multiple access points to obtaining a driver’s license. MPS Drive vendor will provide a comprehensive driver education program including both classroom instruction (in-person, hybrid and online) and behind-the-wheel lessons for an estimated 2,000 students. Community Based Driver Education vendor will provide all behind-the-wheel lessons and classroom instruction (in-person, hybrid and online) only for an estimated 350 students. Respondents must be a State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation licensed driving school, and must have a physical location within Milwaukee County. MPS will consider one vendor for both programs OR one vendor for MPS Drive and a separate vendor for Community-Based Driver Education.
