Specifications include, but are not limited to: The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking bids to furnish and deliver Permanent Reflective Sign Sheeting and supplies conforming to the specifications and requirements herein. All materials, supplies and equipment shall meet or exceed the requirement and specifications set forth in this document. Pre-Cut Sheets for Screener - Reflective Sheeting and Inks must meet the requirements of section 651.2.3 and 651.2.4 of the SCDOT 2007 Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (herein referred to as Standard Specifications), and any additional supplemental specifications for future developed micro prismatic retroreflective sheeting. The Standard Specifications are located at: https://www.scdot.org/business/pdf/2007_full_specbook.pdf Reflective sheeting must meet the requirements of AASHTO M 268, Specifications for Reflective Sheeting for Traffic Control. Inks for reflective sheeting shall meet the requirements of section 651.2.4 of the Standard Specifications. All materials furnished must be in accordance with the SCDOT Qualified Product Policy #20, October 8, 2021 (Attachment D). These approved materials must be listed on the SCDOT Qualified Products List #20, May 26, 2023 (Attachment E). In addition to the requirements of sections 651.2.3 and 651.2.4, the QPP #20 and QPL #20, the following supplemental provisions will apply: Cut Sheets - The Contractor shall supply cut sheets of standard size sign dimensions that are in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (2009 MUTCD, Revisions 1 and 2), Part #2 – Signs, https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/pdfs/2009r1r2/pdf_index.htm (as specified in the purchase order for use primarily in automatic screen printing equipment). Cut sheets shall be provided with a trim of 0.25 inches on all dimensions, for all sizes and shapes. This additional trim area shall be provided at no additional cost to the Department. Cut sheets must be compatible with existing SCDOT screening equipment (Brand: Screener: M&R Print Co. Renegade / Model: RENXLNT 52102036A) without changes to SCDOT existing manufacturing processes. Cut sheets shall be packaged in crates of sufficient size and strength to prevent damage to the sheeting during shipment, as detailed in the ‘Packaging’ section below.
