Specifications include, but are not limited to: Mowing Specifications: Mowing height shall be determined by seasonal weather conditions, higher in hot, dry times and lower in wet, cooler times. Bagging is not required; however, removal of excess clippings is necessary. Grass clippings shall not remain on paved surfaces such as roadways, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. Any such clippings shall be blown back onto the turf area. When possible, mower discharges should be directed in a way to not discharge onto streets, tree wells, landscape beds, or facility. All mowing equipment shall have an appropriate discharge chute. The contractor shall use proper power blowers to blow off sidewalks, roads, curbs, and other hardscapes. Blowing clippings into the street is not acceptable. String-line trimming will be required around all obstacles (i.e., signs, trees, benches, fencing, steep slopes, etc.). Use of a string line trimmer for edging purposes will not be accepted. Use of a string line trimmer to “mow” an area is not acceptable unless the area is too wet to mow during that service. The Contractor shall string line trim any turf that meets up to any water such as a pond, lake, or creek.
