Apply for funding for services and projects for which the CITY would otherwise utilize general funds, prioritizing the following considerations: Opportunities that may be available through philanthropic benefactors, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and U.S. Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Administration and/or other economic development related federal agencies or programs. Grants that can be efficiently managed by CITY staff. Addressing in the areas of, but not limited to: 1. Economic Development 2. Small Businesses Development, Incubation, and Capital Access 3. Workforce Development Housing Planning and Solutions 4. Workforce Development 5. Technology and Innovation 6. Regenerative Tourism 7. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems 8. Food Access and Security 9. Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency 10. Culture and Arts 11. Affordable Housing B. Create processes and templates for specific MDO offices for federal, state, philanthropic, and local grant prospecting and grant writing as designated by the Officer-in-Charge.
