Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1 Carnival Operations The numbers below are based on previous years. The actual number of rides will be negotiated as part of the process. The Independent Contractor should provide a minimum of the following carnival rides: Six (6) children rides* Nine (9) major rides* Three (3) spectacular rides* The Independent Contractor should provide a maximum of the following booths: Eighteen (18) game booths* Three (3) food booths* Two (2) fair novelty booths to be located on fairgrounds (optional)* *Any variation of these items must be identified in the proposal. The operator shall indicate the age and photo of each proposed ride. 4.2 Clean-up The Independent Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing, on the carnival site, a sufficient number of dumpsters, trash receptacles, and recycling containers to handle all waste and recyclable material generated by the carnival as well as a minimum of 10-15 portable restrooms. Dumpsters and portable restrooms must be in place for carnival personnel use upon arrival of the Independent Contractor at the fairgrounds. Independent Contractor is required to maintain carnival grounds in a clean, litter-free condition during their occupancy of the grounds. The grounds occupied by carnival rides and games, carnival trailers, and carnival vehicles and equipment must be left in a clean condition upon the completion of the event. 4.3 Advertising Program The Independent Contractor may provide an advertising program as part of this bid. This plan shall be submitted in detail and include a budgeted amount for the advertising plan. 4.4 Pre-Sale Ticket Program The Independent Contractor is highly encouraged to provide a pre-sale ticket program. Previous carnival purveyors have offered such a program with 1,000 – 1,500 tickets selling prior to the first day of the fair. The Contractor shall detail the pre-sale ticket program in the proposal. 4.5 Entertainment Program/Sponsorship The Independent Contractor may provide an entertainment program as part of this bid. This plan shall be submitted in detail and include a budgeted amount for the entertainment program. 4.6 Ride/Ticket Pricing The Independent Contractor shall provide a detailed description of the ride and/or ticket pricing program, including such items as “pay-one-price-offers”. 4.7 Complimentary Tickets The Independent Contractor shall provide a number of complimentary tickets to the department to be used by the department for County Fair marketing, customer service, and operations.”
