Specifications include, but are not limited to: The supplier shall produce hot mix asphalt at the plant with appropriate safety and operational features in place, including the following at a minimum: 1. Establish and follow a communication procedure between asphalt plant operator and driver of accepting truck, including communication with both visual and audible devices. 2. When there is more than one silo being used, a system for the driver to select and indicate the silo they are to receive material from. 3. When there is more than one silo being used, conspicuous lights or other obvious means indicating the correct silo to load under. 4. Use a test dump or “trickle dump” sequence setting on the initial dump into the accepting truck. 5. Provide and formally document training at each plant location for all truck drivers entering the plant. Provide the Department a copy of the plant safety procedures, including communication procedures, at the onset of the agreement and whenever changes are made to a procedure.
