Specifications include, but are not limited to: These specifications cover the design, fabrication, delivery and installation directions of a threesided precast reinforced concrete culvert and footers intended for the purpose of storm water conveyance. The culvertshall meet the requirements of the current edition of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. The culvert shall be rated in accordance with the current edition of the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation. Ensure the culvert rates for the design loads and South Carolina legal loads are compatible. Detail the culvert with precast footings, wing walls, and head walls. Only a culvert that conforms to the SCDOT 2007 Standard Specifications for Highway Construction will be accepted. The manufacturer will also be required to be on the SCDOT QLP14 list to be accepted. The design and the rating of the precast and cast in place members is the responsibility of the Contractor and is subject to review, comments, and approval by the County. Submit two detailed sets of plans for review. Include all details in the shop drawings, including the size and spacing of the required reinforcement necessary to build the structure and cast in place members. Include wing wall, footing and headwall connections in the plans. Have a South Carolina Registered Professional Engineer check and seal the plans and design calculations. A pre-installation meeting is required. Representatives from Pickens County, the manufacturer and other related parties should attend. The manufacturer shall always have a representative available for contact during the installation.
