Specifications include, but are not limited to: Description: Line 1-Pinson Mounds State Park, boardwalk repair-Minus materials.; Line 2-Pinson Mounds State Park, boardwalk repairs-Minus labor, partial payment for materials on site. 1.The Contractor shall remove decking section (8 Feet approximately) at a time to expose lateral runners and cross supports. The Contractor shall cut the post set in the swamp bed at decking level or at a point where solid original post becomes solid with no rot or decay. 2.The Contractor shall cut to flat a 16-inch section of this post (no more than one third shall be trimmed) and bolt a new post at this point by flattening the new post in the same manner. The flattened area shall be 16 inches in length. The Contractor shall use galvanized bolts to join the 2-post applying water seal at the point of cuts and bolts. 3.The Contractor shall supply and install new 2 inch by 10-inch cross supports one each on both sides of the post splice and bolt through both cross supports and post to re-enforce. 4.The Contractor shall provide and install new lateral supports on 16-inch centers starting on the outside edges and working to the center totaling 5 laterals. (Centers may not work out to exact 16 inches and that is acceptable. 5. The Contractor shall provide new decking to be installed in laterals. Decking shall be no less than 6 inches in width or no greater than 10 inches. Thickness shall be maintained at a minimum of 2 inches thick. Each decking board shall have 3 outdoor rated deck screws at each lateral. 6.The Contractor shall provide and install three new band boards on the inside of the post of a minimum 2 inch by 8 inch. The first (bottom) shall be no more than 2 inches above the decking with the remainder being spaced evenly to 38.5 inches. 7.The Contractor shall provide and install a cap board of no less than 2inches by 8 inches over post and band boards. Post shall be cut even with band boards and water seal must be applied to post cut before cap board installation. Cap boards shall be fastened on 16-inch intervals with outdoor rated deck screws. Finish height with cap boards should be approximately 40 inches. 8.The Contractor shall perform work without removing more than two sections at a time (if possible) for the entire 300-foot distance.
