Specifications include, but are not limited to: The East Hartford Public School District is looking to increase the datacenter capacity for both compute and storage resources, providing expanded storage and services internally with the possibility of reducing its footprint. In tandem with this project, a DR site will be upgraded utilizing the existing servers with the proposed hypervisor. At a minimum, the datacenter should have the following: • 384GB RAM per host o RAM chip size of 32GB • (2x) Intel Xeon Silver (Gold preferred) CPUs per host o 16 cores per CPU • (4x) 10Gbps SFP+ network ports per host o (2x) network cards per host • iSCSI-based connectivity • 3TB of useable local storage per host • Synchronous replication between datacenters dependent on design • Appropriate licensing for hypervisor Services • Install hypervisor technology on new servers • Create a high-availability datacenter topology spanning two sites with the ability to fail services over completely on a scheduled basis, or in the event of an emergency with automation, to a single location • Work with Network Administration team to configure network interconnect with best practices • Provide migration tool and plan for virtual machine migration from Hyper-V to proposed hypervisor • Provide basic template for VM creation (cloning) • Implement and test cluster migrations before go-live date • Convert all workloads and decommission existing Hyper-V and storage environment • Document newly installed server infrastructure and provide Visio and PDF copies electronically Experience • In-house system design capability for server infrastructure, security, and accessibility with an emphasis on providing optimal performance and power in a district-wide integrated solution • The ability to troubleshoot and repair various network issues related to hypervisor architecture, implementation, and maintenance • Installation of new server systems in large educational/commercial facilities • Integration of existing devices/software/systems with new (when applicable) to create cost-effective and dynamic systems • Analysis of existing systems and creation of long-term plans for upgrades, additions, and modifications utilizing a best-value approach • Ability to make product/systems recommendations based on current technology security needs and looking to the future for possible needs • Testing and preventative maintenance services for all systems and devices • Knowledge of “back-end” IT requirements of systems to ensure the right product is being proposed to work with additional IT infrastructure, or a clear understanding of what upgrades would be needed to support modified or new systems • Ability to collaborate throughout the implementation process with the organization’s IT Team Optional Services • Cloud Services
