Specifications include, but are not limited to: The General Contractor’s experience on such projects must include deep gravity collection line construction (greater than 15 feet deep) with heavy ground water requiring dewatering, bypass pumping of existing wastewater flows, connecting to existing structures and gravity collection piping, traffic control, coordination with the public and private property owners, working around and accommodating other existing utilities within the construction corridor/trench, working with other agencies such as the Town of Mount Pleasant and SCDOT, performing various site restoration, and developing detailed project schedules and adhering to such schedules. General elements of work include but are not limited to: ▪ Sheeting and shielding of trench walls associated with linear open-trench construction in marginal soil conditions. ▪ Multiple bank well point dewatering systems. ▪ Removal and replacement of unsuitable pipe foundation and back-fill materials. ▪ Roadway restoration including controlled density fill placement, milling and overlay of asphalt pavements. ▪ Coordination of existing system outages as required for connection to existing facilities. ▪ Roadway “Jack & Bore” construction under paved surfaces. ▪ Relocation of conflicting utilities. ▪ Traffic control plans and all associated equipment and personnel to implement same, including the use of “Jersey Barriers”, manually controlled detours, and the use of all SCDOT required barriers and signage in accordance with Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), latest edition. ▪ Ancillary sedimentation and erosion control activities unique to linear utility projects, including providing certified erosion and sediment control inspection services. ▪ Projects in restricted project environments requiring minimum open-trench lengths, restricted soil stockpile and material staging areas. ▪ Surface restoration including tree mitigation, arborist directed tree limb and root pruning, seeding, sodding and replacement of other ancillary landscape plant materials and hardscape. ▪ Compliance with all applicable Town ordinances and work restrictions. ▪ Comply with all applicable regulatory agency permit conditions including sedimentation and erosion control NPDES SWPPP/MS4 compliance, traffic control, applicable public relations and return-toservice facility commissioning requirements. ▪ Developing and updating a detailed project schedule. Include milestone dates and any owner activities. Schedule should be updated at a minimum of monthly for a standing progress meeting that occurs throughout the project completion.
