Specifications include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities of Security Staff in the Parking Lots and Garages • Provide 24-hour, unarmed security service patrols 7 days a week, 365 days a year sufficient to prevent vandalism, people loitering/sleeping at the locations, and other illegal activities; • Protect the patrons, guests, and staff and their private property; • Protect the asset(s) and public property of the City; and, • Enforce compliance with the City’s codes and ordinances. Responsibilities of Security Staff at the Transit Center • Provide unarmed foot patrol security services Monday through Friday 6:00 am. until 6:30 pm. and Saturdays 7:00 am. until 6:30 pm. sufficient to prevent vandalism, people loitering/sleeping at the locations, and other illegal activities; (Excluding Holidays – New Year Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day) • Over-Night vehicle security service patrols inspections of property during closed hours. • Protect the patrons, guests, and staff and their private property; • Protect the asset(s) and public property of the City; and, • Enforce compliance with the City’s codes and ordinances. • A badge will be provided by Wichita Transit and must be worn at all times. Use of someone else’s badge is strictly prohibited. • Sign in upon arrival and sign out when departing duty. A log will be provided at the Information Counter. • Radio communication will be required at no additional cost to Wichita Transit. Guards will be required to answer the radio and assist as needed. Radio is for communication with the Transit Supervisor only. • Monitor surveillance systems as needed. • Maintain presence outside the Information Counter in the absence of counter clerks. • Maintain presence outside during bus line-ups. • Patrol inside and outside premises between bus line-ups and perform periodic checks of restrooms and ticket booths. • If the public is not there to ride the bus they must be asked to leave. • Do not allow unauthorized vehicles to be parked in bus lanes or staff parking. • No riding bikes, skateboards, etc. on Transit Center property walkways. • Remove bicycles left on buses. Remove passengers if needed. (Sleeping, intoxicated, unruly, etc.) • Lock up the Transit Center after hours. Ensure that premises are vacant. • Respond to any other instructions given by the Transit Center Manager. Responsibilities of Security Staff at the Bus/Van Barns • Provide over-night and Sunday unarmed security service patrols during closed hours to prevent vandalism, people loitering/sleeping at the locations, and other illegal activities; • Protect the patrons, guests, and staff and their private property; • Protect the asset(s) and public property of the City; and, • Enforce compliance with the City’s codes and ordinances.
